Quick Observation
Went for a walk from Cerise to Van Horlick taking in Vantage and Caspar along the way. Ski quality was ok up high. ~10cm powder on a supportive crust, with ridge crest a bit more variable and breakable. No signs of instability today - it was cooler and windier than we expected up high. We witnessed the damage from a huge cycle during the rain last week, probably the biggest we’d all ever seen on the coast. Almost every drainage, at all aspects and elevations, had large crowns up to size 3.5. Many of these had stepped down multiple times. Some photos are attached.
