Skied laps of 2000/2001. Several large groups in the area skiing similar lines, plus others in liverwurst.
A few cm of new snow overnight, and light snow all morning which tapered off by noon. Strong wind gusts resulted in significant wind transport ~1600m and above, and a wind skin was present above 1700m, although it was not cohesive enough to slab or propagate. Surface snow was becoming sticky at end of day.
On most aspects, skiing was excellent. On steep E-SE slopes, a crust down 20-30cm impacted ski quality and the snow on top sluffed easily, but remained loose and non-cohesive. No other signs of instability or recent avalanches. Low cloud prevented widespread observations.
See photo for coverage in the lower exit areas, and debris from older avalanche activity.
