Quick Observation

Skiied from Elffin to Mt Garibaldi and back. Crossed large refrozen debris in the chutes off the Gargoyles at around 630am. A number of gullys had run size 2 in the previous week's storm snow - probably when the sun came out Thurs eve. When we came back that way at the end of the day we waited around until the sun was off the gargoyles to cross. It looked like the chutes had been firing all day Fri - big debris to the valley floor and some paths that had already unloaded had ran further. One S-N party crossing ring creak in the early afternoon had a near miss. We also observed a widespread natural cycle around 3pm. On Garibaldi around a meter of wind loaded storm snow was bonding poorly to the previous MF crust but starting to bond.
