Early morning ski cuts on N asp running long and fast over recent MFcr. 15-20cm deep soft slabs directly lee of ridgetops. By noon these were settling out as temps rose and sunny breaks heated solar asp. Some pinwheeling by 1100 below 1900m then convective cloud blocked most insolation and a crust to 35mm formed. Convective flurries put 1-3 cm of graupel over top of this 180412 MFcr. Tests at 1820m NE asp 22 deg HS=360 revealed consistent CTH down 75-80 over 180322 MFcr Progressive Collapse and CTH down 125 SP on 180222 MFcr (suspected). The later repeatable and sliding off column on facets rounding over crust. Moist layer down 20 from surface and extending down a further 35cm. North asp slopes skied well down to 1400m, as did steep trees on NE. No tree bombs as of 1600hrs.
