<p>Comments above are based on skiing from Jan 9-12. Dug pit on Jan 8 mid point on south facing slope approx 200m above the cabin. 130cm total snow depth. 65cm down found hoar layer. Top 30cm of storm snow collapsed. Consolidated column down until bottom 25cm of facets. Popped on 2nd and 3rd Hard. **** note put was dug prior to strong over night northerly winds on the night of the 8th. Strong Gusts. Consistent winds from variable directions over the next 4days. Skied N, E, S, NE slopes - Variably breakable significant wind slab found on all aspects from alpine to well below tree line. Some hoar frost development but not as significant as expected given the cold clear overnight skies. Day temps -18. Overnight -23</p>
