It was a warm and sunny day at Yanks, and while there was still some dry powder to be found on steep north facing high elevation slopes it's likely even those areas will be crusty tomorrow with how warm it got. Generally the snow was moist and heavy, especially on sunny slopes and lower elevations. We dug a quick pit at the tree line on a northerly facing slope but had no worrisome results with our tests. It was a great day to push into some steeper highmarking terrain in the bowls as the avalanche hazard was quite managable. We still avoided being under or on large cornices and steep sunny slopes during the hottest part of the day.
