Chilly bluebird day, and generally hardpack and stable conditions on Hector. Waterfall in excellent condition. We were able to skin the first pitch to the rock choke before a short boot pack. All windward slopes scoured. Breakable crust, icy slopes, or sastrugi in the areas one would expect sheltered pow. Fast travel, terrible skiing, amazing views.
Ski crampons were handy on the final steep headwall skin, but not yet mandatory.
