Vermillion Peak

Simon Henry, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Went up and over Vermillion today. Was 15cms yesterday. High cloud light snow all morning. Sun popped out periodically this afternoon, with light winds up high. Parked at Numa (park in the Numa pullout, despite No Parking signs - directed by Mr Plow) and went up Vermillion Peak. 10-15cms new snow in parking lot. E facing bowl - blower pow, not over 35*. Stable other than a NE facing wind pocket which we ski cut and produced a LD slab size 1.5-2. See photo 1 propogation. SW Roadside was variable. Some minor pinwheeling in the alpine with solar affect. Storm snow, variable 5cm dust on crust into shin deep; excellent riding. In the gully, the tracks of old were crusty with 15cms on top, making for good but bumpy riding (plus the legs were pretty shagged).
