Cold smoke at the pass

Dug a snow profile at ~2,000m on a flat bench on a NW aspect. Produced an ECTN18 down 38cm on a layer of stellar crystals, and a CTM11 RP on the same layer.
Multiple December crusts were visible in the lower snowpack but produced no result in either test.
Height of snow ~170cm and able to probe pockets up to 2m.
On the top of lightening ridge we did feel some mild slabbiness with hand sheers producing some stiffer results - and a person in our party felt a small whumph in a likely wind loaded pocket.
Otherwise no other signs of avalanche activity in the area - only cold smoke and good vibes.
Day started sunny with weather blowing in around 2pm. 1-3 cennies on the car by 4pm. Creeks and other hazards are much more filled in - still some open creeks and compressions but travel is significantly easier than it was in prior weeks.
