Snowpack

Toured up harmony ridge. Clear day excellent vis. We noticed some surface hoar at the start of the day and some temperature crust at 1650 after some nice turns from 1900m. Decided to head uphill from there. 2 ECTs completed on similar aspect slopes 10’ apart. Test 1 had more of a convexity than test 2. N facing 1940m Test 1: ECTP25 down 45cms. Full block popped. Slope was 17deg with minor convexity. Test 2: ECTN13 down 40cms. 1/3 block failure. Slope was 16deg with slight concavity (note difference to test 1). We feel the avalanche risk today is: ALP - moderate where we tested/skied (some spooky test results but skiing has been good last couple days. Proceed with caution as it may be considerable elsewhere). TL - low BTL - low After last 3 days we have done several observations but we are still left with a question mark about where we are at. Our opinion is to proceed with caution as we gather more data.
