Good day in Jimmy Simpson Bowl. We skied two laps of the entire length of the bowl with two other parties. The area has been refreshed with 10 - 15cm of new snow which sat on a layer of much firmer snow. New snow was softer lower down in the bowl and became firmer higher up as it was exposed to the wind. Pockets of powder and crust could be found throughout the bowl which caused the snow to feel "grabby" in places. The wind increased into the afternoon which caused spin drifts and sluffing off the headwall at the top of the bowl. The drainage out of the bowl is in good shape. Snow back at the vehicles at the highway in the afternoon was wet and heavy. No signs of instabilities observed all day.
Partially cloudy. Light snow all day. Light to moderate N to W with stronger gusts apparent in the afternoon. Spin drift being blown off headwall with some larger gusts causing sluffs in extreme terrain.
