Hurri-Cain winds

Vancouver Island

AvCan Vancouver Island , Thursday 28th March, 2024 4:40PM

We hopped up to the Mount Cain area to get a little eggs-ercise and see how the snow was hare-ing from this most recent storm. The road up was in eggs-cellent condition, and as soon as we got to the parking lot, the evidence of the eggs-tent of the wind effect was obvious. Sometime during the storm yesterday (March 27), some rain occurred, leaving a widespread crust, and reinforcing the chunkiness of previously existing debris. The wind scoured the ridge tops and threw all the new storm snow down into the bowls or trapped it in the trees. After chicking out the snow in our pit, we hatched some great turns down sliders, which hoppily is not living up to its name today. The best pow can be hunted down in sheltered areas. While the new snow had decorated the slopes into a smooth surface, just below lurked some icy sharks that are just waiting to take you down. Feel free to complain about the puns, but we think we are quite bunny! Happy Easter!
