auto: Quick Report

aj.scotland8, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Avalanches observed that must have happened the day before or maybe 48hrs old, felt and looked very fresh, loose wets must have triggered a slab under a cliff in steep open sloped terrain terrain in an avy trim line under a choke point, most of the face let go debris was 50m wide 1m deep and ran about 250m. This was at about 1900m, A decent size 2.Test pit today at 1:00pm 2300m sw 30degrees was 200 deep dug down 165... Lots of thick ice crusts buried now in the upper pack and lower Is mostly a crusty sandwhich with some larger moist grains. didnt inspect much further. isothermal in valley bottem but consolited moist pack up high ectn and dtn down 145. Crust was supportive in steep open terrain with powder pockets on top, definitely breaking down at low elevations by late day. Great crust skiing if ur looking to give the legs alittle jiggle befor summer! Bring your mouth guard. Oh, the valley travel could permit swin shorts! Temp was 0 degrees at 7:30am cold in alpine felt like season transitioning around 2000m. Was around 2 degrees at the car at 3 but still snowing to our suprise.
