Facets observed at bottom of snow pack. Ski penetration was in a 20 degree runout zone. Foot penetration was a valley bottom.
Intermittent snow during the day. Old skin tracks were filled in to about 10 cm.
We observed the remains of an avalanche that originated in the high alpine on the north side of the valley. I ran about halfway down the face. Estimated no more than 3 days old.
