Snow pit dug on N aspect of Motel 66 at 1800m. Total snow depth 185cm. CT4, sudden drop/collapse in the new storm snow at 25cm. CT22, sudden drop at 65cm. CT29, sudden drop at 125cm. ECTN4, storm layer at 25cm. ECTN21, at 65cm. No propagation in the ECT. Density near the top 30cm was fist-hard snow, below that was four finger hard snow, and continued to get denser into 1 finger dense snow near the base of the snowpack. There wasn't any obvious crusts. In general, the snow felt well-bonded and fairly stable where we dug pits We also skied a NW line off of Vantage Peak, snow depth was generally shallower (~50cm) and quite variable with some wind affected pockets, seemed well-bonded with no signs of avalanche activity.
