Disappointment

Went for a walk up the Mt Speiker trail, things look terrible. Snow is 40 cm deep in sheltered areas at treeline, mostly less than that everywhere else. Only lines that look skiable are a handful of wind loaded avalanche paths in ALP and some small sheltered slopes at TL. Surface Hoar is reactive under a wind slab down about 20 cm, failing ECT11-13 SC Saw evidence of a 2-3 day old slide under a cornice below a NE ridgetop
