Quick Observation

Whoops, got my compass directions all mixed up. Previous report should be titled 'South side of Skeena near Mt. Catt". Also should add some avy observations. No new or recent slab avalanche activity observed. Expected fresh and recent pinwheeling of moist surface snow in the warm elevation band was observed on solar aspects. No pinwheels really triggered any pin releases that gathered any substantial mass. One old deeper slab avalanche was seen in the alpine from a steep windloaded pocket on NE aspect, perhaps a size 2. Old large size 3 avalanche debris on a runout fan from what appeared to be from before the recent snowfall event was seen on a north aspect. Suspect it triggered in a mid to high alpine start zone. Strong winds were moving some remaining loose surface snow yesterday but we observed mostly scouring and stratagucci ( :) ) formation, no loading in lee areas.
