Not so Deep Anymore

Warm temperatures and wind have caused the recent HST to settle. Foot pen and sled pen is now about 20cm. Strong winds have scoured west aspects and pressed in snow at treeline and in the alpine. We saw evidence of some older natural avalanches that released on a persistent layer during the storm. Cornices are looking large along ridgetops. If the warm weather continues and new precipitation arrives tomorrow, we may have to adjust our trip objectives accordingly.
