Started the day on pow and finished on concrete. Definitely saw increased sluffing activity as the temperature rose. New snow does not appear to be bonded at all to the base crust layer. Lots of wind-distributed snow, including mini cornices at ridge tops. Everything looks primed to start settling in with the coming temperature spike.
Snow conditions were: Deep powder, Heavy, Powder, Wet, Wind affected. Weather conditions were: Warm. We rode: Dense trees, Mellow slopes, Sunny slopes. We avoided: Convex slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Slab avalanches today or yesterday. 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
