We checked out Bell for a day of sledding and skiing.
We wanted see if the Dec 1st rain crust was in the area. It was not present at 1800m or above, and we did not dig at lower elevations. The upper snowpack is right side up, mid pack is well consolidated with several early season crust and facet layers in the lower snowpack. A column test produced resistant results in the moderate range in the upper snowpack, in settling snow.
We skied the burn to about 1800m, with great ski quality. And spent the rest of the day on sled skills in the mellow hills above the cabin.
Visibility limited our alpine/ridgeline obs but previous wind transport was evident in crossloaded features. Moderate southerly winds at ridgeline today. It snowed less than 5cm over the day.
