Beauty day on Green Mountain
South Coast Inland

Snow starts around 1200m but snowshoes weren’t needed until 1800m. Skiing would be doable but very rocky so we opted to skip it. You’d have a good few short laps above 2000m if you were willing to carry skis up though! Snow was very cold, dry and powdery, with pretty deep trail breaking on northern aspects likely from wind deposit. Up on the ridge it was quite wind affected and we heard quite a few whumphs throughout the day but only in pretty flat areas on the ridge and no other signs of instability like shooting cracks or wind slabs forming. Snow is overall very thin still with maybe a maximum of 30-40cm at its deepest and tons of rocks still poking through.
