<p>Exploratory mission around the Rohr area. Approached the day with a conservative mindset with the PWL still being an issue and widespread windslab. Had little expectations; however, ski quality and stability was better than anticipated.
Calm winds and broken sky coverage with temps around -5 celcius. Southerly aspects had a 3-5cm suncrust and hand shear tests at TL indicated planar failures with moderate resitance down 30cm on the crust interface. Winds were come at TL with light westerly ridgetop winds.
Non sheltered Alp and TL terrain was heavily wind effected and ski quality was average. No recent avalanches observed.
Test Profile @2100m, HS 290cm,NE aspect, 32 deg slope
CTN
Stability test provided no results; however, only the top 100cm was tested/observed which does not include the PWL
Upper pack consisted of well consolidated 1F windslab
We skied sheltered N,W Alp and TL slopes and found wind effected creamy powder. Skiing was decent and we witness no signs of instability.
