A small, dense storm slab released from on a micro terrain feature just uphill of Depencier Lake. The slope was identified as a problem slope prior to skier loading and skier was able to exit the flank onto a small terrain feature without being caught or carried. Avalanche ran 8-10m with a 3m wide crown across a small drainage. Avalanche flanks were poorly defined; we hypothesized that it had failed on the interface between new storm snow and older snow from the previous system that fell late last week.
Winds L, NE at ridgetop, gusting to M. C winds at lower elevations with L gusts.
