Saturdays snowfall blanketed the area with a perfect 5 to 10cms of fresh. Skinning up in the morning in the snowshoe Trail was easy and then trail breaking was required from tree line where the snowshoers turned around. The new snow sits on a supportive crust making for fast fun turns. Dry powder on North aspects above 2000m. Haven’t been up there in years in the winter and was surprised by how good the skiing can be. Or retreat was down the uptrack staying well away from the sun cooked South aspect. Caution skiing through the small trees - isothermic mash potatoes in places. Several years ago I ripped a Fritschi binding right off a ski at this location in the mash conditions. The walk out was hanious.
Have fun and play safe!
