Stanley North face

Had a look at the Nemesis shortcut traverse ledge but found an eerily similar snowpack there to the Haddo incident. 10cm of unconsolidated powder on a nice firm 50cm midpack on top of facets to ground. Quick hand pit had the column fail on isolation. Decided to go the long way around where coverage/depth was much better until the steepest part of the roll on the glacier tongue where it was less than 50cm of consolidated snow on ice. Needed to bootpack 50m with crampons on. It skied fine though. Up on the glacier coverage was great. Skiing the Kahl route was great too. Cornices were very touchy on the summit Ridge and some had fallen naturally too in the last 48hrs. Good skiing still, stay away from cornices and thin snow pack areas.
