Quick Observation

Great ski in S aspect BLT sheltered gully today. 30cm of fresh pow on supportive midpack with no signs of instabilities on the descent. Test Pit dug at 1900 Denser trees at 1650m and below had denser snow with lots of tree bomb activity. Wind picked up to high at 3pm and and temp dropping steadily. Open wind effected slopes had signs of instability (shooting cracks) at 1900m. Keep an eye out! No other signs of avalanche activity noted in/around the area over 24hr. Overall awesome day and snow! Weather

Mild winds all morning, increased to high between 1-3pm Temp also dropped steadily over the same time period.

Snowpack

Test Pit dug just under 1900m at top of descent. South aspect 38 degrees HS195cm ~30cm new snow CTM13 break down 30cm CTH22 RP down 45cm (surface hoar?) Dec. crust ~2cm thick (pencil) down 95cm No instabilities noted on the S aspect ski descent. One member noted shooting crack when dropping in from small open wind effected SW slope, extending 5m. Crack did not extend into S aspect slope, nor react further.
