Toured out to backcountry adjacent to resort near Flute. Winds moderate at ridgeline, -5 and snowing lightly most of the day. Flat light as mostly high overcast. Wind- affect & Wind transport was pronounced. NW aspects off Flute & Lesser Flute had approx 5- 10cms pow overlaying a pronounced soft slab. Height of snow 135cms @ 1700m. 245cms @ 1850m
E and ESE slopes below the ridgeline off Flute's backside had excellent snow. Anywhere from 30 to 45cms of fist density overlaying a pronounced 4F. Melt-freeze is between 60 to 80cms down. Perhaps the beat pow skiing of the season so far. Dropped 1870m to 1740m. Creeks and trees looked aggressive below that so just did short laps
