Skier triggered 1.5 isolated pocket windslab on SE aspect of evening ridge (lookers right in the treed area). Group of 5, first skier was caught after dropping into a less supported pocket of micro terrain. Slab was soft and rider was able to stay on top of the slide. Carried ~50m no injuries. As a group we backed off a larger unsupported opening with higher consequence, which this slide validated was the right decision. Slide occured in a treed area - and definitely correlated with AvCans report of “surprisingly large propagation potential on the new storm slab”. There were no signs of instability the rest of the trip. Safe to say we were all a bit spooked, and a good wake up call after such stable conditions the last couple of weeks which probably made us a bit more confident than we should have been. Safety first out there.
