Grand Daddy Couloir

Good coverage from the road and overnight freeze made for easy travel to base of the couloir. Ski crampons useful on the fan. Decent bootpacking. Small bits of snow periodically coming down from upper climbers right. But nothing alarming. Couloir skied OK. Mix of hard and soft snow. But not cement! Somewhat marginal conditions in the upper portion turned us around beneath the upper pillar. Supportive snowpack back to the vehicle early afternoon.. Clear morning. No wind. Clouds arrived later than expected. Retrieved some gear in the couloir. I’ll post on Facebook and try to find its owner.
