Quick Observation
The beauty of short early season days is getting to see the sun come up from behind the peaks at midday! We found mostly wind-affected and rimed surface snow in the alpine near Fraser Peak today. At lower elevations and on sheltered slopes, there is still soft snow on the surface which makes for good skiing. There's plenty of tracks in Fraser Chutes where people have been enjoying this snow. We have been avoiding loaded and cross-loaded terrain features where hollow, drummy wind slab exists above the December crust.
