Skied a few laps of the Crowfoot glades roadside chutes on Sunday. We stayed out of the alpine, and stuck to sheltered slopes at TL and below. We found approx. 25cms of new storm snow overlying various old crusts. The new snow remained low density in sheltered areas at TL and below. In snowpack tests, new snow produced occasional planar results on previous crust layer, but did not show signs of significant slab formation or propagation. We did not witness any avalanche activity during the day. The weather was stormy throughout the day, with obscured skies and intermittent snowfall (generally S-1). Temps were -6 at noon at 2050. Ski out from the chutes is possible, but generally quite challenging and involves route finding due to the low snow.
