Quick Observation

Great skiing today below treeline. There is widespread wind effect in the alpine, at treeline and in exposed areas below treeline. There was a natural cycle during the last big storm on all aspects within the area visited with activity up to size 2. Average snow coverage seen below treeline was 180cm.

Snowpack

A layer of facets exists between two weak crust interfaces down 100cm and 115cm below treeline. I did not get it to react in tests. We encountered 20cm soft wind slabs in lee terrain below ridge crests that were reactive to ski traffic.
