<p>Still great snow to be found on Northern aspects with minimal avalanche activity. Dug a quick hand pit at the top of the slope we rode, managed to get the top 40cm to move on what looked to be decomposing surface hoar. Likely the Jan 12 surface hoar that was covered.. minor instabilities 25 and 15cm down, again on top of decomposing surface hoar, likely to most recent storm snow.. minor melt freeze crust at the 15cm mark.. results came after a good hard tug on the block so I’m classifying this as a hard result. We rode the slope in question with no signs of instability. Plenty of anchor point lead here so we weren’t worried about anything stepping down. -2 in the shade and +2 in the sun. Sun crust forming on S aspects. I anticipate load increasing on S aspects, so we avoided them.</p>
