Phat slab forming

StroopDogg, Friday 26th November, 2021 8:00AM

Crispy zipper crust overlying a 20-40 cm storm slab (depending on elevation and wind effect). Slab is sitting on a supportive crust, present from 1,650 - 2,100 m. The storm snow is dense and makes for challenging skiing, but at least the deeper crust protects your bases from debris. Happy fun times on low angle groomers, but certain fear on steeper open slopes. Dense, deep slab running surprisingly fast and far for the limited snowpack. Lots of early season hazards still poking through to make a particularly gory ride if you went for one.
