Ymir Conditions
Kootenay Boundary

Mellow north facing slopes had 10cm of dry snow on a crust. Steep north facing couloirs were wind scoured and very crusty for the first 10 meters before the skiing quality improved. Ascending the Ymir ridge towards the peak was not easy as the snow was variable being either icy, wind effected or sugary and often would not support a skin track or allow a good edge without stomping each step.
