April 4/24: Cirque peak North Couloir: Moderate to strong ridgetop winds and several sz 1.5 Na observed in steep terrain. One new sz 2 in cirque north bowl. Whumphs and cracking in shallow Rocky alpine areas. Cirque north glacier had 20cm of dry schnoodleable snow, HS was 280 on probing. April 5/24: Quick recce up the Wapta via Bow Lake. 15-20cm dry snow in AM becoming moist by afternoon. Lots of new slots near the Olive/Nick Col. Far less wumphing and signs of instability on the Wapta side of the highway. Snow depth on wapta was 150-280 on probing. By 230pm wet loose activity began with many small wet loose and a few sz 2 wet loose observed as surface snow warmed up, slab avalanche activity was notably less compared to last 2 days. Crust below new storm snow supportive into afternoon.
