Storm Fire Break - Tracked Out + Crusty

The snow around Storm Mountain had a definite crust from recent thawing, and on the fire break in particular was heavily tracked out. Still a good option for lower angle, lower risk terrain - just don’t expect powder turns (as of March 7th). Good coverage on the base, didn’t hit any rocks the whole day. We crossed the highway to the South-facing slope of Mt. Whymper for some fresher snow, but turned around soon after encountering a thick (~3cm) solar crust in the natural avalanche runout. Temperature hovered around -3C for the peak of the day.
