Beautiful York

Beautiful day in North York Creek, mostly sunny in the morning, some valley fog and higher clouds moving in by mid afternoon. Stayed cool all day …-5 at staging, -2 at upper Treeline. Great visibility into the Alpine, no natural avalanches seen, nor was there any reactivity to our skiing.
The day was calm, but there had been lots of wind in recent days creating isolated small wind slabs in the Alpine and in open areas at Treeline.
At TL (treeline) and BTL (below treeline), there was 20 cm of recent snow over the Feb 3rd raincrust, with surface hoar developing in sheltered areas. News Flash ;-) the Snowpack in this area is really thin …. Only 50 cm at Treeline. Sled / Ski access up N York is certainly possible, but a bit boney, especially lower down.
