Whitewater Ski Area

danicrowe4, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

We observed a large crown from an avalanche on East peak of Evening Ridge near Whitewater ski area from a freshly deposited avalanche with a depth of approximately 1 metre, and length of about 200m with a size 1-1.5 Upon our travels we observed about 10 other small avalanches in the area that had happened within the last couple hours. All had a size of about 1- 2.5 for rating. The weak layer in the snowpack was at around 40cm, witnessed whumping in several locations as we travelled and tested the snowpack. It was slow moving and challenging to break trail with the new and large amount of recently deposited snow. We also triggered a very small, size 1 avalanche an noticed the slab of approx. 40 cm
