Elizabeth Parker Hut

<p>Observed numerous large natural avalanches on surrounding peaks. A quick pit in the flat meadow behind the Elizabeth Parker hut revealed a weak layer approx. 30cm deep. An ECT yielded SP on that layer at CTM17.</p>

Alpine slopes, Convex slopes, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes.

Avalanche Conditions

Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.

30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.

Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.

Slab avalanches today or yesterday.

Powder.
