Quick Observation

Went to go scout some new terrain, ALMOST got shut out by snow/clouds/fog. Clouds parted for an hour or so and it was great. Snow was amazing, but I didnt ski it as I was by myself. Stuck to xtra super mellow stuff. Dug a pit to help me feel safe crossing a more exposed section. Was on a SW aspect. Very stable. Very few naturals observed, which I was a little bummed about.

Avalanche Information

Didnt see much activity. Very clearly lee slope, new-ish cornices at top. Cornices were quite soft. Some had dropped, and there was some material that had come off the cliff face. Only one little point avalanche triggered. Some old debris noted 1/3 or 1/2 way down steep slope. Noted another few small thin avalanches on the other side of the valley but nothing stepped down. Tried to throw bits of cornice off ridge onto north aspect but they mostly just fell apart.

Snowpack

28cm new snow at time of test. Continued to dump all day. Fast snow. Ice layer way down at 155cm with well bonded facets on top. Another crust at 105cm with weaker feeling facets on top, but no results, even when pulling the whole column out.
