Quick Observation

Temps must've been up and down all day. New snow from the last two days is fully saturated with rain up to about 700m. Above that, a hard, breakable surface crust had formed (I think it rained in the morning, then temps dropped again?) on top of ~35cm of fresh snow with the old crust below that. Around 1050m, the surface crust was getting pretty thin and had already accumulated a few cms of new snow by 4pm but we didn't have time to keep working higher. No signs of instability when deliberately cutting kick turns on slightly steeper slopes, surprisingly, but we didn't really venture into avalanche terrain.
