Took a long walk up to Wapta for some early season turns.
Travel to the hut is as rugged as you might imagine. We were able to keep skis on most of the way but delicate walking was key to not wrecking the skins.
80cm of snow on the glacier is just enough to totally hide crevasses with week bridges. 120cm was found on the way up Rhondda at about 2900m. Here we had a quick dig. RPs down 40cm. Nice right side up snowpack sitting on 10cm of facets.
All in all, would not recommend yet due to the lower elevation travel. But things are shaping up in the alpine!
