Avalanche Information

Parks Canada conducted avalanche control on Mt. Dennis today resulting in numerous size 2.0 avalanches, one of which buried the road in two locations with 1.5m deep by 5m wide deposits. There was decent slab propagation in alpine features within the wind slab which entrained additional snow in the tight gullies below. Dennis 1; three sz 2.0, previously ran naturally sz 3.0 to mid fan Pilsner Pillar (Dennis 2); two size 2.0, debris to mid fan below the climb Heineken Hall (Dennis 3); two size 2.0, debris to bottom of fan below climb Labatt's Lane (Dennis 4); one size 2.0 Dennis 5; one size 2.0, debris buried the road in two locations, 1.5m deep by 5m wide each ***Guinness Gully and the Decent Gully (Dennis 6 & 7) were not controlled***
