Quick Observation
AST 2 group skied Fraser Chutes with a focus on companion rescue. Heavy wind deposited storm snow blown into wind slabs on lee side of crossed loaded gullies. Observed 1 new size 1.5 Natural avalanche. Also observed easy shears in hasty pit and hand shears in the storm snow interface. Wind blew all day from the southwest but snow transport was minimal in the afternoon with warm temps. Bit of a melt down at lower elevations leading to moist surface snow at treeline, particularly on southerly aspects. This will likely for a crust as temps drop. Skiing was a little rugged by the end of the day due to heavy moist or "slabby" snow.
Avalanche Information
Fraser Chutes main gully. Crossed loaded start zone. Occurred during the storm evening of the 26th.
