Avalanche Information

Windslabs have developed with most reactivity at lower trèeline in lee and cross loaded areas. Intense transport 190208-9 created hard slabs for 20m in forest from trim line edges of avy paths in open trees. Easily triggered by ski cuts. Further into the forest, skiing is quite good on 30-35cm of facetted snow.

Weather

Mix of scattered cloud and sunny breaks. Convective flurries at times. Fluctuating temps, but always cool.

Snowpack

Pencil to 1 Finger windslabs 10-25cm thick over Fist density near surface facets. Slab fails on cutting the column for CT and ECT. 190131 melt-freeze crust weak and facetting at upper treeline. Supportive at lower treeline and upper btl.
