January Delight

Excellent conditions in the Feather area today, ~15cm of soft powder and no signs of wind as of late. Throughout the traverse no signs of avalanches or instabilities were identified. Around 1200m on an East facing slope a breakable wind crust at surface was noted overtop of low density snow. Crust was a thick well consolidated layer, 5cm. Slight temperature inversion in the alpine, cold day regardless. Hoarfrost seen on surface below 1100m.
