Sterling observations

Went to Sterling yesterday... yup, that's right. I went snowmobiling at Sterling yesterday. Observed Below Treeling, Treeline, and Alpine on all aspects from 400 - 1400m. Surface hoar to 10mm on all aspects and elevations on surface. 15 cm of soft storm snow. No new avalanches noted. No cracking noted in the storm snow or in wind transported snow. Wind generally from East transporting snow in alpine and high treeline. Moist snow on steep solar aspects. Snow profile at 1200m on NE aspect in treeline glade with 190 snopack depth showed compression test moderate 17 taps Sudden Planer down 50 on very well preserved surface hoar.
