NE ridge, behind Mt Wash

adrian.granchelli, Sunday 9th February, 2025 1:00AM
We rode the South and North sides of the NE ridge behind Mt Wash. The ridge had visible wind effects and localized wind slabs. In one instance there were shooting cracks from skis. The South side was wind scoured (snow height ~210cm) and heavier due to sun effects. The snow was fluffy and incredible skiing. The North side was more skied out. There were many icy sections with pockets of deep powder. Small cornices from the ridge were released moderately easily with about four stomps. A ski cut on a convex roll did not release. This trip was part of an AST-2 course with Island Alpine Guides
