Ski Tour AST program Summary: 1300m SE aspect 1315hrs +3 degrees. HS 113 cm in area observed. Snowpack summary: up to 30 cm of settled storm snow overlies crust 30 cm down. Top 5 - 8 cm was moist due to day time warming as well as very light rain at 1300 hrs (did not last long). This crust was reactive to compression tests (CTM 11 SP and CTE 4 SP) as well as to ECT tests (ECT 14) in area observed. Midpack also well settled with crust down 65 reactive to hard results (CTH 29 SP) but not to ECT. Early season crust down 85 was unreactive. Ski quality was very good boot top powder - dry in shaded areas and moist in solar affected areas (until the short rain sprinkle took care of the shaded areas). Reactivity of CR down 30 was something that got our attention.
